Favorite word: "YES!"

I wish for: joyful, secure lives for my children, for all children

I am thankful for: health, family, music, laughter

What gives you peace: a good practice, be it in yoga, writing, or relating with others

Why Yoga: Because it has everything about being alive in this body in it, so it's hilarious and sad, and it feels really, really good.

3 words to describe you: patient, loyal, strong

What/Who inspires you: Children playing, especially when they're trying new stuff; they're fearless and unselfconscious and they're in it for the fun; they try, and their trying is very beautiful.

What you can’t live without: the love and support of my family and my friends

Favorite Yoga pose and why: Natarajasana, because it feels the closest to actually flying; even the getting-into and coming-out has this grounded, yet flying quality. Also I love the growly name!

Secret comfort foods: fresh squeezed orange juice; peanut butter

Words to live by: "Love is a place and through this place of love move with brightness of peace all places. Yes is a world and in this world of yes live skillfully curled all worlds." e.e. cummings

Best Advice you ever had, from whom: take three deep breaths; my mom

Words to describe your teaching style: fun, investigative, smooth but challenging

What do you love to do for fun: yoga, write, travel

Your first yoga class -- where/when/with whom: Cleveland Yoga, March 2004; it was a follow-the-yogi class with Anne Marie Kramer: I was crawling for the door when it was over!
