I wish for.... the courage to let go of fear completely and always move from a place of love & the ability to get out of my head and into the “heart” of it all
I am thankful for.....everything
What gives you peace? …in no particular order…time spent connecting with nature, yoga (of course!), meditation, conscious breathing, music, my family, my friends, good food, moving towards my true self, connecting with others
Why Yoga? ah, trick question :) the list is endless...
3 words to describe you: thoughtful, fun-loving, easy-going
What / who inspires you? The unlimited potential of each and every moment/every person who is willing to let go of old, limiting ideas and live in the “now”
What you can’t live without? hope
Favorite yoga pose and why? Savasana, because this is the pose that challenges me the most; to be present, to find stillness, to become the witness, to let the things I need to realize sink in…and to let the rest of it go
Secret comfort foods? peanut butter/honey/banana/mutli-grain bread sandwiches, chai lattes, breyer’s mint chocolate chip ice cream
Words to live by (or your favorite quote): “who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens” ~ Carl Jung
Best advice you’ve ever received (from who?): “Get out of your own way” ~ Rainbeau Mars
Words to describe your teaching style? “elegant”, flowing, powerful, balanced, peaceful, contemplative, fun
What do you love to do for FUN? Other than yoga ;) …visit with family and friends, play outside, dance, sing, read, experience life, watch a good movie, listen to good music, travel
When/where/with who was your first yoga class? I first started my practice at home with my fave Rainbeau Mars dvds, my first “official” yoga class was in Esalen at the Annual Bhakti Yoga Festival with a group of amazing teachers; Saul David Raye, Mark Whitwell, Sianna Sherman (this is the first group practice that stands out in my memory, profoundly life-changing event from beginning to end)
Local escape: the lake, the metroparks
